Students in New Haven celebrated the UN’s International Day of Peace today with a beautiful art installation of over 6,000 brightly colored “pinwheels for peace” on the green. The museum designed and created the metal wires for the pinwheels.
This morning twelve-hundred students gathered on the green to appreciate the artwork, dance and sing. New Haven students celebrated internationally by connecting with students from Kragujevac, Serbia via live streaming. They also listened to and shared messages of peace, including a message from United Nations Ambassador Anwarul Karim Chowdhury.
